Healthy Home Organic Mattresses and Bedding is part of our Healthy Home Series. Over the past years we have had the pleasure of designing various bedrooms for serveral clients. They range from clean lined master bedrooms to intricate, traditional master suites. Don't forget about those children, teenagers and babies. We love designing for them as well. Many time we aid in the help with selecting bedding and often with mattresses. Since we spend about a third of our lives in bed what we sleep on and in matters. There are many toxic chemicals in our mattress and things that do not need to be there to ensure a sound, comfortable night sleep.
Problems with conventional mattresses:
With ingredients like synthetic, petroleum based foam that is treated with chemical flame retardants and covered in PVC vinyl's as well as toxic formaldehyde is also found in synthetic foam and in the adhesives
Health Problems associated with off-gassing chemicals:

- Behavioral Problems: Impacts on the developing brain
- Endocrine disruptors
- Reproductive issues
- Liver Damage
Things to look for in a Healthy Mattress:
- No Polyurethane foam
- No VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds)
- No Vinyl
- No flame retardant chemicals
- Use GOTS Certified Organic Fabric
- Bonus if made in the USA
- Organic Latex, Cotton and wool
- Certifications from trusted sources
