Improving Your Indoor Air

Indoor air quality is second only to sleep on the impact on your health. We added air purifiers to our studio this year and researched the top options. We chose the Molekule system for two reasons: one, you can control them from your phone, they work superbly, and they have a mini version we can bring with us to photoshoots and sites. The other choices here are all excellent and attractive HEPA filters from Dyson and Alen that will rid your indoor air of allergens, molds, bacteria, and viruses.

Keeping Fit at Home

Access to the gym, fitness center or studio has been spotty this year, and staying fit is key to staying healthy. During the spring, summer, and fall I, like many of you, took advantage of hiking and biking to stay fit but with the winter months I know I’m less likely to walk outside. Having a gym at home is ideal this year and to be honest, I’m much more likely to work out if I just have to travel down the stairs and not several miles. What better reason could I have for including exercise equipment in our Wellness at Home Gift Guide.
On top of my list of items, I would love to add to my home gym is a Pilates reformer. I currently work with the fitness circle and mat Pilates at home, but the reformer gives me added stretch and strength.
If you want to know more about the benefits of Pilates read this post.
In addition, the rowing machine and stationary bicycle are a great way to get a cardio workout in a low-impact way.
I also included a foam roller. I love mine. After hours at a computer, stretching and using the roller for a gentle massage restores my back in just a few minutes.

Spa Day at Home

Many of us are forgoing the spa but still need self-care and relaxation as part of our wellness routine. We put together ideas for spa-day products that a woman might not buy for herself but would certainly appreciate in our Wellness at Home Gift Guide.
I use my rose quartz roller at the end of each day and not only is it good for my skin but it is sublimely relaxing. The friend who gave it to me is remembered every time I use it for her brilliance and thoughtfulness. As a bonus, including a facial oil from Beauty Counter, makes it a set. I use a little oil with my roller to increase the benefits.
A facial mask is a great way to pamper yourself too! I use a mask twice a week to keep my skin in shape without having a professional facial.
Light therapy stimulates collagen and keeps fine lines and wrinkles at bay and luxurious addition to a spa day at home.

A Relaxing Bath

I think there is nothing better to wipe out stress and improve wellness like a soak in a hot tub.
My simple, straightforward wellness bath recipe is plain Epsom salts with equal parts of Lavender and Frankincense essential oils. Which I’ve included in our guide along with some more lush options of bath bombs.
