Tis the Season for The Red Carpet

So this is one of my favorite times of the year...Award Show Season! Call me a sucker but it definitely helps me to get through the cold, dark winter! I don't know if it is the gowns, the beautiful hair, the chance to make a new list of movies or television shows to watch or the acceptance speeches but award shows make me giddy! Sunday nights are just so much better.
One of my favorite things to do is to compare Fashion and Interiors. Not like you can't tell with our ongoing event series Fashion + Interiors that we hold each spring. So today, I took out some trending fashion items from the 2013 Golden Globes and paired them with some beautiful textiles and wanted to show how they relate. At LiLu, we look for inspiration in all areas of your life and one of them may be for us to look into your closet. Do you have an evening gown that you just wish you could live in? Is it the feel of the fabric? Is it the emotion that the gown gives off? Whatever it may be we love to hear about it and we love to incorporate those details into your home.
Anne Hathaway who won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture was stuning in this gown by Chanel Haute Couture . White was huge this year but I thought Anne just did it with such class.
"Silk Pleats" from Pollack in their Pure Collection is a beautiful way to embrace this look into your home.
Nicole Kidman never disappoints on the Red Carpet! With her updated "bob" and this stunning black dress by Alexander McQueen she was one of my favorites and nice to know that Black is still "in" after the surge of color from the last year!
I loved the rhythm and movement of this Pollack fabric called "Mix Tape." It mimics, while not being exact the sheer cutaways of Nicole's Dress.
Well, my favorite of the evening had to be Michele Dockery in Alexandre Vauthier. Gold is making a huge comeback and this dress is just so right. Elegance with just the right amount of gold to not be too overpowering.
This wallcovering from Weitzner Limited is the perfect way to get that touch of gold. It can be draped, hung, layered the options are endless. Nimbus Solar in Sunray draws its' texture directly from the South American fig tree bark. Lori Weitzner is a true genius...check out her products if you never have.
