The Craft of the Plan

We start each project with a design concept and then move to planning and elevating. For this kitchen we explored, in sketch form, several alternate plans that expanded our clients kitchen and improved the connection between spaces.
Each plan has advantages and disadvantages but they all solve the basic design problem we were given to solve.

The final plan we arrived at incorporates two feet of space from the adjacent deck into the kitchen. This allowed us to create an efficient work triangle, add counter space, have great circulation to the family room and eating area, and maximize pantry storage.  By comparing the demolition plan (below) with the final plan.
