Scandinavian Christmas Displays
By LuAnne Silvia, ASID
The holidays are time for traditions. Decorating with family heirlooms is a great tradition, and another is doing something together with you family every year. You can combine both by and take a trip on your own Scandinavian holiday adventure and view beautiful traditional displays of Jul decorations at the American Swedish Institute. This year, this annual holiday display takes inspiration from the special holiday exhibit, Santa Claus, Coca-Cola, and Swedish Design. The holiday traditions of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Finland are represented in five Nordic Christmas Rooms throughout the Turnblad mansion. Each year, the Nordic Christmas rooms feature Nordic china, crystal, linen, silver, and unique tree and Jul (Christmas) decorations.
After touring the rooms, be sure to check out the gift shop where you will find these fun Christmas items and more:
