Timeless Treasure Primary Suite

A primary suite should do more than impress—it should restore. For these long-time clients, LiLu transformed their Lake Minnetonka home into a suite of rooms that honors 27 years of living while opening gracefully to everything that comes next.

The porch, once formal and underused, is now the heart of the suite. Watercolor sheers drift from cream to aqua, framing a breathtaking view of the lake and a centuries-old oak. Two daybeds face the water, inviting quiet mornings, afternoon reading, and conversation at day’s end. Overhead, a sculptural bubble chandelier adds a sense of lightness and artful ease.

Through French doors, the sitting room continues the sense of calm with soft blue-grey upholstery, cream paneling, and custom built-ins that hold not only a television, but the details of a life well lived: needlepoint supplies, treasured memorabilia, family photos, and pieces gathered through years of travel. Designed as a quiet retreat within an active lakefront home, the room creates an intimate place for reading, handwork, conversation, and taking in the fireplace or lake view with ease.

As the Quiet Pursuit Sitting Room, the space received First Place in the 2026 ASID Minnesota Design Excellence Awards for Residential Singular Living/Special Purpose Space 300 SF and Under. Centered around the existing fireplace, open shelving, thoughtfully integrated storage, and an improved connection to the adjoining porch, the award-winning room transforms a once-underused space into a refined retreat for focus, conversation, and quiet restoration.

A bath layered in deep navy and granite brings quiet drama to the suite, while a private office, anchored by a substantial cherry desk and warm brass pendant lights, creates a refined space for focus, reflection, and ideas still unfolding.

The Wayzata home feels deeply personal: a thoughtful retreat shaped around the way the clients live, rest, work, and look toward the future.

Every room, exactly them.
