Norway Book Treasures

 By LuAnne Silvia, ASID
I spent three weeks in Norway with my family during the summer connecting with relatives and traveling throughout the Valdres Valley. We visited a few of the stave churches and I found the architecture, history and legends fascinating. My book find is full of beautiful photos and interesting facts of Norway’s 29 remaining stave churches.

After we returned from Norway, a dear friend gifted me a gem of a book that pairs written poetry with stunning photography of Norway’s natural poetic landscape.

On our way to Norway we spent a night in Iceland. What unique and exciting topography. We swam in the “Blue Lagoon”, and the paradox of steam and ice and human presence in the geothermal lake among the jagged lava rock was surreal.
