Monday: Sneak Peek at Master Bath
By Christina Winter, Allied Member ASID
Sometimes in homes the existing footprint of space is what you have to work with...the best part is that it offers up a challenge for us. How can we make the space function better for everyday life while staying in the perameters that we have to work with? How can we make the space feel more like a master bath instead of a hallway or even guest bathroom? Well, this design problem was brought to us and with a little bit of demolition, a few new walls and fresh, innovative materials we have come up with an exciting design solution.
Below is the existing floor plan where everything will be taken out:
The new proposed floor plan. We have taken out the bathtub and replaced it with a walk in shower with body sprays, a hand held shower head and a rain shower head. The vanity is now longer with more useable space and the toilet was moved out of the viewing eye when you are in the Master Bathroom. Site lines are very important and usually are missed. Good design keeps all of these things in mind.
