Monday Peek at a Project

By LuAnne Silvia, ASID
Spring is in the air, or at least officially here by the calendar. In Minnesota with our four seasons, spring is the time we start to daydream about outdoor living. Outdoor spaces are an extension of our living spaces and we approach them in the same manner as indoor spaces. We start with how you live, how you want to live, and design spaces to support your life. What do you daydream about doing outdoors...Read? Nap? Entertain? LiLu Interiors wants to know so we can create just the right space for you.
Our Monday peek at a project is an outdoor space we designed for a commercial space in St. Paul. Our client worked with a landscape designer to create a patio off of their dining room for their youthful clientele to dine outdoors. They also wanted a conversation area and lounging space. We chose lightweight dining furniture so they would be easy to move around for flexible use in bright active colors to create a dynamic space. In contrast, the heavier coffee tables were chosen to designate established conversation areas and selected in a white color to keep the space fresh and light hearted. And we scattered chaise lounges in a natural woven rattan on the lawn to provide a quiet place to relax.  Here is a peek at how the space turned out.
