MinneCon 2011

RUGS WITH A MISSION
At MinneCon last week we stopped by the Lou Reid & Associates booth. Bridget introduced us to ARZU Studio Hope, a new line of rugs they are representing. We were excited by the line because these rugs have a great mission in social entrepreneurship. ARZU, which means "hope" in Dari, provides their rug weavers (primarily Afghan women) access to education and healthcare, while creating a well-paying job.
ARZU offers several beautiful standard patterns, both traditional and contemporary, but also provides custom capabilities. What is better than a high quality, hand-woven rug? A high quality, hand-woven rug that helps support an entire community on the other side of the world!
