Maison Spring
By LuAnne Silvia, ASID
Earlier in the year we met with Talin Spring who represents an exquisite line of handcrafted fabrics, tablecloths, towels, and runners that are dyed, spun and woven in Italy. Then we heard the news that she opened a showroom, Maison Spring, in International Market Square right down the hall from us, and all we could say was fabulous!
Another exquisite line she represents is by a Milan-based textile designer and decorative painter Idarica Gazzoni. Inspired by Italian frescoes as a child she studied decorative painting in Brussels and traveled to the Far East. Her Arjumand collection of fabrics and wallpaper was named after a Mogul princess originally from Persia, much-loved and known as “the light of the palace”. Before dying she asked her husband to build a monument as a symbol to her love, the Taj Mahal.
The collection is printed on heavy-weight linen, silk tussah, linen voile, and wool felt
