What’s Trending Today…Mad Men

Okay, it's been everywhere for awhile now, but I'll be the first to admit I am a fan of all things Mad Men. I have spent many an evening absorbed in the mysterious lives of Don and Betty Draper. And if I'm not completely engrossed in the story then I am taking notes on the interiors. Isn't the new office in Season 5 yummy? It is jam packed with mid-century modern treasures. Why are so many of us obsessed with this era and the mystique of mid-century modern style? Because it offers a level of sophistication that is not easily attained, creating a look that will always be imitated.

 

 
60's style is everywhere! Check out Banana Republic's new Mad Men line:


LiLu is still waiting for Don and Betty to walk through the door for a head-to-toe mid century mod make-over. But we have had the opportunity to infuse a little Mad Men style in some of our projects. Here is a carpet that is going to be installed in a South Minneapolis home. It gives a nod to 60's style with the geometric pattern and bold contrast.

 

 
We're lucky to be inspired everyday by the best mid-century modern reproductions available. The Knoll showroom is our neighbor here at IMS and the showroom is filled with beautiful designs from Saarinen, Bertoia and many others.
