Lower Level Remodel
by Ally Evander, Allied Member, ASID
Here are a few quick snapshots of a space we recently designed and installed. This lower level was partially finished, but didn't have all the necessary storage. We packed this small basement with cabinets to not just create storage space, but to create really organized storage. We worked with the homeowner to understand what items needed to be stored and where.
We stuck with light finishes so the space wouldn't feel heavy with all the cabinetry. It's also a lower level, so natural light was limited.
The lower level has everything you would need and could function as a small apartment. The space features a small lounge, with a sectional for napping or TV watching, and a small kitchenette for snacks and beverages. There is an office that can be converted to a bedroom. A laundry room with all the bells and whistles and a new bathroom.
