LiLu’s Heirlooms part 3
Emily's Heirloom Story...
A simple oak chair circa 1920 with a broken stretcher and a worn seat.
It may not mean much to someone else, but I love this chair because of its owner. It once belonged to my great grandfather, Edward Wittkopp and sat proudly at his dinner table. It's simple lines remind me of a simpler time. I can't help but imagine the conversations he had with his daughter (my grandmother) while sitting here. As pastor of the local church, I also imagine him sitting here putting the finishing touches on his weekly sermon.
Incorporating family heirlooms into my home helps keep me grounded in my heritage and reminds me of who came before me.
