LiLu’s Heirlooms part 2

The doily in its traditional useage is not one of my favorite home decor items. I do, however, appreciate the craftsmanship and intricacy of the art form and love that they were handmade with care. I used the doilies my Grandma Janet made as an applique on my bed pillows. I love the idea of taking a very traditional object and utilizing it in an unexpected way. It is a more modern take on a traditional motif. I like the subtle contrast of the white pillow and ivory doily. And I love that it reminds me of my grandma!
