In Progress – Funky Loft

We are currently working with a newlywed couple who needed design direction for their new loft and a fresh start to reflect their new life together. Combined they have a bold colorful art collection and a few pieces of existing furniture they wanted to keep. We continued the neutral shell established by exposed ceilings and concrete floors by selecting just the right wall color and developed a rhythm with a deep red accent color to make their art collection feel at home. We added a glass mosaic tile back splash to the kitchen in our red accent color. Light fixtures are simple forms. The bathroom wall covering is an abstracted tree pattern that provides interest while still being neutral. We added lofty thick textures to counteract all the slick surfaces with a shag area rug and woven pillow fabrics. The result is a cool loft that is vibrant and welcoming.
