Why Grounding Colors Should be Part of Your Color Scheme

Grounding Color Schemes

The secret is out: nature is healing. The Earth provides us with all we need to heal ourselves. Ever notice how amazing you feel after a walk in the woods? There's your proof. Forest bathing is a healing practice from Japan that has been popular for decades. For more on the art of forest bathing, check out this article.
This week, we want to bring the forest and all its healing energy to the inside of your home. So, we've made a guide to creating a nature-inspired, grounding color scheme.

Stone Colors

One of my favorite grounding nature activities that always leaves me with a sense of peace is collecting rocks on the North Shore of Lake Superior.
These stone colors create the feeling of an empty harbor on a cloudy day or a stone path to a secret garden. Implement them in your grounding color scheme to bring those moments to your everyday life.

Forest Colors

These grounding colors are perfect for creating the forest inside of your home. Maybe you use them in a den or another room for relaxation as a cocoon of forestry and the Earth's grounding.
As we said, forest bathing has become very popular in recent years. Another phenomenon is forest therapy, a meditative healing practice for supporting health and wellness through immersion in forests and other natural environments. To create the same effect in your home, use these grounding forest colors.

Earth Colors

These earthy colors are often used for flooring. As the Earth grounds us, so should our floors.
Let your floors look like the soil, and let yourself be supported. Bring the Earth to you with these colors in your grounding color scheme.

Bark Colors

If you are looking to zoom in on the forest, try these bark-inspired colors as a part of your grounding color scheme. I am always inspired by the way different species of trees have different shades, patterns, thicknesses, and textures of bark. These colors will bring the same sense of intrigue and peace to your home.
