Fresh, Traditional Kitchen Remodel: Peek at Project with LiLu Interiors
Fresh, Traditional, Updated and Welcoming
These are all words our client used when describing how she wanted her new kitchen to feel. Our clients are an active and growing family who (before Covid-19) hosted many dinners to soccer and swim teams, had church events and large family gatherings. When discussing their concept it was simple to see that low maintenance and flexible were high on their list. While these two ideas are simple it doesn't mean that aesthetics are not important and that we can't have some fun while implementing fresh and traditional.
Our clients described themselves as traditional, but enjoy subtle details while loving the color blue. With a color palette in mind and one already set forth in their home, we began the designing process. A large island allowed for a fun chance to change up the cabinetry color and paint it Indi go-go by Benjamin Moore with the perimeter cabinets to be White Dove also by Benjamin Moore.
When it came to the hard finishes, they are taking a fun leap with a cement accent tile above the range in a blue and white that will play nicely with a large format subway tile that is 4" x 12". The size is so fun and will help elongated the feel of the kitchen.
Other fun features are the island pendants and dining chandelier that add in a polished chrome and brushed nickel finish that will pair nicely with the appliances and kitchen faucet. A farmhouse, apron front sink was a must and we selected the Whitehaven by Kohler with a smart divide that will give them the best of both worlds.
We can hardly wait to see this project come together. Now that the hard finishes are complete and selected we are moving on to selecting furniture and fabrics. Often at LiLu we phase out the design process getting the critical decisions complete for construction. Have questions or no idea where to begin on your project? Give us a call! We'd love to talk through it.

Blue and white in a kitchen is one of my favorite combinations for finishes! You can’t go wrong with this traditional kitchen combination. Very classic that you stayed with chrome fixtures which will stand the test of time. Your clients will love this kitchen update.
