Rugs as Art Masterpieces: Peek at a Project with LiLu Interiors
Think of Rugs as Art Masterpieces
Rug Design! One of the first things we do when we begin designing a space is to start with the rug when it is required. Many factors come into play when we start to think about what type of rug we can put in the space.
- Budget
- Performance or quality needed for room
- Type of fiber: Wool, nylon, synthetic, jute, cotton
- Pattern or solid
- Color or Neutral
- Size of rug
We also think about what we want the rug to do for the space. Should it be a backdrop and more quiet? Is there to add softness to the space? Will it help to define a space? What about a pattern where it will act as the main act for the room? Color, yes please.
As designers, we are able to suggest many different options for our clients from bound carpet to 100 hand knotted 100% silk! Once we establish the budget and what we want the rug to do for us, then it is time to select the design. Check out some different custom options we have done for our clients where our rugs have become the masterpieces and such important parts of our rooms that we have designed for our clients.
From Concept to Final Rug
This rug really offered the energy in the room. The dining room was the heart of the home where all rooms were connected to it. This rug encompassed all of the colors of the house and helped to bring everything together.
The many options of custom rugs
Talk about variations of one single rug! This rug is truly a masterpiece in this room and while it is hot pink it acts as a natural backdrop to the space.
New is old again
This rug was designed to fit into a modern home that was juxtaposed with old antiques of furniture to help them pop. This rug was a modern take on a old vintage rug.
Ready made Rugs are Statement Pieces too!
This dining room rug is a ready made rug made to the size we needed. Even though it isn't custom it is 100% perfect for this clients home from the pattern to the colors.

How nice to discover a new source for rugs that’s not the “same ol’ same ol.’ The colors are gorgeous.
