LiLu Interiors Peek at a Project: St. Paul Dream Home Remodel

Dream Home Remodel

Last week we featured an upper level remodeling project for our client who wished to add a master ensuite to her St Paul home. For today’s peek at a project we are looking at the remodeling project we are designing for this same client on the main level.

Dream Home Remodel Must Haves

Our client was excited to find a home in a St Paul neighborhood she loved but there were a few must haves on her list that did not come with the house. LiLu was happy to help solve the problem and get to work sketching space plans that would update the kitchen and add a main floor powder room. Our goal was to seamlessly add a powder room with as little disruption to the overall layout as possible. Regarding the kitchen, we had both functional and aesthetic goals – design a plan with a more efficient work triangle and additional storage space and to design cabinetry and select finishes that reflects our clients style and the 1920’s architecture.

Phase Two of the Dream Home Remodel

Our problem solving began with custom solutions for a wall of shallow pantry cabinetry that would serve as both a charming focal point and lots of additional storage. We also designed custom cabinetry to fit seamlessly on either side of the dining room windows. The new custom built-ins serve as additional serving space and disguise the radiator and look like they have always been there. By closing off one side of the stairway we created a better work triangle with more counter space and a nice flow from the back door into the adjacent dining room.
