Jewlery Box Dining Room- Peek at a Project

PEEK AT A PROJECT

Our client wanted us to re-imagine this dining room as a "jewelry box." We wanted the room to be simple and uncluttered, so we cleaned up the furniture and space plan. We used layers of detail created by finishes to round out the jewel like feeling.
Built Ins:
The built in cabinetry along the back wall makes the room feel larger by expanding the view from left to right. The client will have display for cherished dishes, and extra closed storage too.
Here's how we finished the shell of the room:
We covered the ceiling tray in a coppery gold wallcovering. We painted the ceiling plane with a champagne gold metallic paint. The walls are covered in a Phillip Jeffries wallcovering called Brushstroke silk. It's meant to look like paint brush strokes in gold tones on a silk ground. The client wanted to keep her existing chandelier.
Still to come:
We will be installing silky, patterned window panels to frame the view. The existing rug will come back into the room. A new dining table and chairs covered in a gold toned fabric will be the only furniture, keeping the room uncluttered.
The room already feels so different! Like a shiny little hug! Stay tuned for complete install photos.
