Date Night: A Client’s Upscale Bar Design Peek at a Project
MONDAY'S PEEK AT A PROJECT
Upscale Bar Design
Upscale Bar Design is today's Peek at a project where we are taking a closer look at the upscale custom bar, part of our North Oaks lower level remodel project that includes an inviting lounging area, a place for the family to cozy up by the new fireplace and watch tv and a game room/billiard area. Last week, we shared the overall plans and hinted at how we created a space that provides a special night out at home. Today we are featuring some of the custom details that make this bar feel like an upscale destination. Read the overall story here.

Lighting Plan
LED Lighting
Let’s start with the lighting – lighting sets a tone and an ambiance and establishes the mood of the space. To create a destination we designed a floating wood ceiling that drops over the bar area to create warmth and intimacy, and defines the bar in the spacious lower level. Tiny LED lights recessed into the floating wood ceiling illuminate the space. Behind the bar, white high gloss acrylic panels simplify the backdrop behind glass shelves and are lit with LED tape lights to highlight the surfaces and create another low level of sparkling light.

Bar Finishes and Materials
A Black and White Story
High contrasting materials combined with warm wood tones set the stage for an upscale hotel-like bar atmosphere. The high gloss white acrylic panel cabinets, polished black countertops, and mix of black, gray and white linoleum tiles are all reminiscent speak to the senses and invite you to linger.
Finishing Touches
A Shagreen textured cabinet pull, hammered metal sink by Native Trails and contemporary Brizo faucet complete the upscale experience. Dishwashing drawers and undercounter fridge are tucked seamlessly below for convenient access.
