Cool Night Out 5

By LuAnne Silvia, ASID
Saving the best for last...the piece de resistance... a night in Paris. Ooh la la! Actually, Ooh la Louvre! The best part, it's a car ride away rather than a plane ticket. For the coolest night out this fall it is hard to beat The Louvre exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
I'm sure you've heard, but here goes: The current exhibition at the MIA is The Louvre and the Masterpiece. And what better time to travel to the MIA than during one of their Third Thursdays for special programs, drinks and live music? The museum just feels different at night. And you have a couple of opportunities as the next two Third Thursdays are devoted to this unique exhibit.
Thursday November 19th , 6:00-9:00pm - Ooh la Louvre Sign up for a tour at 7:00 pm, practice your french with help from Alliance Francaise and attend a series of short talks on artworks featured in "In Pursuit of a Masterpiece"
Thursday December 17th, 6:00-9:00pm - Parisian Nights Tour "The Louvre and the Masterpiece" and the MIA's companion exhibition "In Pursuit of a Masterpiece" and view French film shorts by Georges Melies
