Blogfest 2011
By Lisa Peck
I have been back from Blogfest 2011 for about four days now. I have been struggling with how to put into words the experience of attending this three day event for interior design bloggers put together by Kravet. I left so inspired and so full of new information. So I am starting with this brief recap...by the numbers.
Great Days in New York
Fabulous editors who spoke with us about their magazines and the relationship between blogs and print media. Including Editor-in Chiefs Newell Turner from House Beautiful,
Dara Caponigro from Veranda, Jay Fielden of Town and Country and Margaret Russell from Architectural Digest.
Design Icons that we met including
Eric Cohler, David Easton, Bill Diamond & Anthony Baratta, Suzanne Kasler, Thomas O’Brien and Suzanne Rheinstein and Barbara Barry
Exclusive sneak peeks
The Elle Decor Modern Life Concept House, Lilly Pulitzer for Lee Jofa, Indochine Collection for Kravet by Barbara Barry and The Lee Jofa Heritage Collection
Exclusive studio tours in one building. We saw the design studios of Kravet, Lee Jofa and Brunschwig and Fils
Let's face it....teas, breakfasts, luncheons it was all one big party wrapped around lots of information and inspiration but two events seemed more party-like
The Winedown party at Sub-zero/Wolf and the Sweet Ending parting at 1st Dibs.
Sources of inspiration.
Thank you to Beth Greene, Jennifer Powell, Scott Kravet and all of the people who made Blogfest 2011 a great event.
