Summer at the Seaside: A peek at a Newport, Rhode Island Condo designed by LiLu Interiors
This was one of those fun projects where we got to combine two things that don't always go together: Nautical and Modern. Our client's vacation home certainly called for nautical inspiration, it's got beautiful views of the water. But our client also wanted the home to reflect the design style we helped him establish in his main home; masculine and modern. We are so excited with the final design! We got to design a custom dresser and matching nightstand with painted navy ship lap fronts, a walnut frame and perfectly matched walnut and metal hardware from Waterstreet Brass. The art piece by Josef Kote is decidedly nautical, but the artist has taken a modern approach to the painting style. The bedside pendants are art pieces in and of themselves. Made by Sklo, they remind us of a nautical knot, but the blown glass creates an unexpected combination. The metal legs of the chair and bench create contrast with the wood pieces. This place has a cool yet serene vibe. I wouldn't mind moving right in, how about you?
