Pizza Oven Wall Design- New Construction Lake Home

Pizza Oven Wall Design

Over at our new construction lake home project in Wisconsin, we are working on elevational development. That means we are designing what each wall will look like and all the vertical elements of the space. We will share in upcoming blogs more about cabinetry and tile placement for this home but today we want to share one elevation and how the kitchen will have a fabulous feature pizza oven wall. The pizza oven wall design will become a focal point of the kitchen.
If you want to look back at the previous posts about this home see more about our concept meeting here, and the overall space planning of this home here.

Materials for a Focal point wall

Since our initial concept meeting, we have made progress on material selections, and here are the final materials for the kitchen including a patterned tile to create interest at the pizza oven wall design. Our client is a consummate cook and enjoys cooking up a storm. Our material palette includes stainless-steel appliances, rift-cut white oak cabinetry, rough-sawn oak beams, elm ceilings, pewter finishes for the plumbing, natural quartzite, Cambria quartz, and two tiles. The kitchen is large, and the multiple finishes will keep the space feeling lively.

Designing the Elevation

Part of the development of any project is making sure each wall looks well and coordinates with the other elevations in the space. Drawing out elevations helps us illustrate to our client what the detail of the space will be and help to start to create an understanding of the overall feeling space will have.
The pizza oven wall in this kitchen will be the centerpiece of the kitchen and we have chosen to highlight it with a patterned tile.
The wall will feature a custom hood that serves both the woodfired range and the wood-fired pizza oven.
This little rendering is a mash-up of a hand sketch and photoshop. A quick way to show the development and scale of the wall.

A Working Kitchen

With her desire to entertain family for large gatherings this kitchen is being designed as a working kitchen and we have chosen to express this by having some tools and textures on display in the kitchen to add warmth and charm
Wall rails will display pots, pans, and pizza paddles. A wood storage area is convenient for stoking the woodfired appliances and adds a layer of texture that creates a homey, rustic feeling.
