Lake Home Primary Bath Design – New Construction Lake Home – Peek at a Project

Primary Bath - New Construction Lake Home

Continuing the series for our new construction lake home in Wisconsin, this week we are exploring the plans for the primary bath, which has a different vibe from the powder room we featured last week. Keep reading to check out this lake home bath design!

Floor Plans - Lake Home Bath Design

In each project we do, we do initial space plans to discuss the pros and cons of different configurations of each room.
When creating this lake home bath design, we knew that storage was important to our clients. So, we tried a few different space plans to find the best one.

Final Floor Plan - Lake Home Bath Design

After weighing all the pros and cons, our client decided that it was most important to have a great amount of linen storage in the bathroom in the end.
So, we decided to have only one sink on the vanity with a large linen tower for storage!

Vanity Elevation

This vanity is unique from the rest of the home because this lake home bath design has a different feel to it from the rest of the home.
In the rest of the house, we will use rift-cut oak with heavier craftsman detailing. Since our clients wanted a more spa-like, zen feeling in this primary bath, we decided to forego those craftsman details and instead create a shaker door profile and more simple details on white painted cabinetry.
This way, this bathroom feels like a proper zen retreat.

Shower and Tub Elevations

For the shower and tub, we chose an elongated subway tile with a rustic character and combined it with an elongated hexagonal glass tile that has shades of blue, green, and taupe.
This hexagonal glass tile will create a large band of accent tile in the shower and a smaller band of accent tile in the tub.
These material choices reflect both the rustic character of the home as a whole and the peaceful, zen, vibes that the clients wanted specifically in their primary bathroom.

Materials and Fixtures

The materials for this lake home bath design are much softer and more fluid than those materials chosen for the rest of the home.
In addition to the tile in the shower and tub, we have chosen soft blue colors for the wall, and softer, white, painted cabinetry.
The sink and faucet, too, have softer, more organic, curved lines to them. This allows for a more serene, peaceful, zen feeling in the bathroom in comparison to the rest of the home. This lake home bath design will be like a spa in the middle of the woods.
