Local Artist Ernest Miller

By LuAnne Silvia, ASID
I first discovered Ernest Miller's work in a gallery in Northeast when looking for the perfect ceramic piece for a mantle. I found the subtle textures and unique forms of his ceramics intriguing. When you get a chance to speak with him it is apparent that he treasures the experience and intimate process of creating art forms out of clay. It is fascinating to watch him throw a piece and hear him talk about the firing and glazing process. You can visit his studio in the Northrup King building during Art a Whirl and Art Attack and hear firsthand about what he loves to do and see his work. You can also see his work at Art Resources Gallery. He will be at the Edina and Uptown art fairs this year. And he also teaches classes...For more information check out www.ernestmiller.com
An Ernest Miller piece from my collection, I absolutely love the interaction of colors in this vase!
