A Laughing Matter

We at LiLu often talk about how your interior should reflect you; your personality, values, lifestyle. So if you are a lighthearted, easy-going person, you should not be living in a home that looks like this:

Today on the blog, I am going to talk about bringing humor into the interior. Why shouldn't your space make you laugh?
For example, I love these stools and ottomans. They look like they are about to get up and run away:

 

 
I love how this rug brings some humor into an otherwise formal foyer:

 
Another way to bring humor into your interior is to embrace those tchotchkes and knick knacks you recieve as gifts from beloved, yet out of touch relatives. I have something similar to this at home that I use as a bookend:

If you aren't fortunate enough to have relatives that bring unusual gifts, go find some for yourself! Your local garden store is sure to have a Gnome or Laughing Buddha statue that would certainly bring a little playfulness to any interior.
